  • Multimedia Design
Television, print and radio are all mediums of communication. These media brought together under a single platform, namely the computer, is multimedia, as we know it today. In today’s volatile business and design environment, having a broader set of design skills will strengthen your employment prospects in at least one sector of multimedia and design.
  • Employment opportunities include video editing, corporate and educational CDROM development, kiosk interface design, sound editing, graphic design, website design, animation and 3D modelling. These multimedia disciplines are in themselves specialised industries thus providing a large platform for further education.
  • Introduction
Distinctive characteristics of our Diploma programmes consist of the development of the ability to conceptualise, produce, promote and present ideas for material outcomes.
  • You will be expected to produce creative work with a particular target audience in mind through visual communication that stimulates visual interest in the viewer. You will be given the opportunity to develop the ability to write and increase verbal communication skills through interaction with peers and lecturers, both informally through written reports and visual journals in relation to assigned work and group critique/discussion sessions and formally in traditional presentations of finished design work.
  • Throughout the Design Diploma programme you will be required to develop high levels of self-motivation, curiosity, investigation, imagination and unique thinking skills. You will learn about the interactive link between materials, media and processes and the important relationships between creator and target audience.
