  • How to be creative ?
There are many ways to generate ideas and concepts, either as a group or as individual designers. 'Drawing' or visualising these ideas is an important part of the designing process. Having great ideas is a start, but how do you select and apply 'creative' ideas in a practical way that wil also appeal to a particular audience? This programme puts you in the picture.
  • The Digital Age
You will also be introduced to the potential of computers within 'design'; investigating how modern technology can be used effectively to enhance the appearance of creative ideas generating the opportunity to learn how to use a range of software, highlighting the importance of storage and backing up the files. Essentially, you will learn the relationships between digital and tradional art and design techniques.
  • Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, students will be able to use drawing skills to communicate specific design information, select and apply Ideas and Concepts in practical art and design work, use appropriate type and letterforms, computer software, and words and images in commercial design work. The learner will also be able to explore 2D, 3D, and timebased media design through research and practical applications.

With this certificate, participants will then be able to apply their skills in creating brochures, postcards, digital images, and sketch art for design outcomes. They will also have a firm grasp on design principles to further their education in a full diploma programme.
